In their song, “Human”, the rock band, The Killers, sing this in reference to Hunter S. Thompson’s prose on humanity,”We’re raising a generation of dancers.” People, who like robots, are programmed to just fall in line and ask no questions.

Thankfully, we’re not robots, we’re flesh and blood beings with emotions, minds, and wills. It’s how we were created.

In this message, we’re exploring Genesis 1:26-27 to discover what it means to be human, to be created in the image of God, and how to live in light of it.

The Prayer

Somewhere in our souls we have a longing to be connected to the Divine. When we’re honest with ourselves we can sense something has been lost. What should be is not and that includes ourselves. There’s a restlessness about us that seeks to find rest.

Prayer is so powerful because it is the way we can commune with our Creator and in a moment we are reconnected to what we ultimately long for.
